Brady Miller Darth Maul |
![]() Brady Miller began his journey into that familiar ‘galaxy far, far away thirty years ago. He hasn’t looked back since. As the sequels were released, Brady found himself more and more immersed in the Star Wars universe Once the popularity of the last film of the original trilogy had waned, Brady felt almost lost. With no new Star Wars movies on the horizon, many fans of the films thought it was the end. Brady’s love for the movies never ceased and as he entered his teen years it became a mission of his to reacquire many of the Star Wars toys he had once owned as a child. Thus keeping his love for the films alive.Miller graduated from high school in1989, took a year off and attended Ohio State University in the fall of 1990 to major in graphic design. Due to unfortunate circumstances Miller was forced to give up his schooling and enter the working world. In 1994 George Lucas commissioned an author to pen a three-book trilogy detailing events set after Return of the Jedi. Then came the announcement that Lucas planned on re-releasing the Star Wars saga in theaters. So began the Star Wars renaissance. Soon after, Brady met the love of his life Melissa. The two were married and a year later his wife gave birth to their son Anakin, named after the character from the Star Wars films. Next came the biggest announcement from Lucasfilm in twenty years; George Lucas was making a prequel Star Wars trilogy! With the release of Star Wars: Episode 1 a new interest for Miller blossomed, Star Wars costuming. His costuming began with his first costume of Darth Maul. The costume and make-up was very crude when he began because there weren’t a lot of reference materials to base his costume on. Today, Brady strives for such accuracy that he’s actually hunted down most of the same materials that were used by the prop and costume makers who worked on the films. In 2002, Brady discovered the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming fan club. He built a new costume for admittance into the 501st legion and became a member in 2004. He currently is the 501st Legion’s Ohio Garrison executive officer. Founding Masters of the Force with his friends was a simply a natural progression from merely wearing a Star Wars costume, to actually performing as a character and entertaining people. When Brady isn’t portraying the evil Darth Maul he is a financial analyst for a major motor freight carrier. He currently resides in southwest Ohio with his wife, Melissa, and their three children. “Never in a million years would I have thought that I’d have the opportunity to make people happy by dressing up and ‘playing Star Wars’. States Brady, myself and Masters of the Force, are just a small number of people who are trying to ensure that Star Wars is Forever.”
