Brian Pauley Obi-Wan Kenobi

Brian Pauley’s journey into the Star Wars universe started much like many others, with watching the movies over and over again. Brian was just a youngling when the movies originally came out, but he watched the VHS tapes that his parents had taped off cable TV over and over again.

Brian graduated from high school in 2000 and college in 2004. Brian graduated with a bachelors of Science degree, partially fueled by the sci-fi giant that is Star Wars.

When the special edition of the original trilogy was re-released in the late 90’s, Brian was thrilled to finally be able to see the Star Wars movies on the big screen. “As soon as the big spaceship appeared on the screen, I was on cloud nine.”

When the prequel trilogy came out, Brian was ecstatic. When he saw the battle between the characters Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Darth Maul, he was awe struck and that duel would become his favorite of the Star Wars saga. Brian was finally able to attend his first midnight movie premiere in his hometown for Revenge of the Sith. He also was able to be a guest on Gary Burbank’s Talk radio show, Sports or Consequences, as a “Star Wars expert”.

Brian was a “normal” Star Wars fan, but he “wanted more.” He heard that a Star Wars costuming group called the 501st Legion, would have a few characters at his local video store for the DVD release of the original Star Wars trilogy. There he met Brady Miller. Through that meeting, Brian found another passion, Star Wars costuming. Brian later found out about Masters of the Force through the Internet and inquired if they needed another character. Brady was in need on a young obi- wan, so Brian auditioned and with that was awarded the role.

“I have always wanted to be on stage and perform. My high school and college only did musicals and I can’t sing.”

Getting the part of young Obi-Wan was something that made his wish come true. “My favorite things about the Star Wars saga is the music and the lightsaber duels and now I get to perform a duel while listening to the music live!” How cool is that?” He is excited to be a part of a group that will make sure that the excitement of lightsaber dueling keeps Star Wars around and in the public’s mind for good.

Brian currently resides in southwest Ohio and works as a chemist for a large laboratory company.
